Siegfried de Buck
It is impossible to summarize the number of objects that Siegfried De Buck has reflected upon and realized in his signature style since 1971. Rings, sculptures, necklaces, cutlery, candleholders, bracelets, walking sticks, chocolate boxes, tables to name but a few.
To be a silversmith, a goldsmith and an artist in equal ways is a rare quality. Every single work of his combines these three qualities in the same amount.
His work has been exhibited worldwide and is included in several permanent collections like the V&A in London. “Prinselijk ontbijt voor twee” is the name of the silverwork he made on commission by the province of East Flanders to be gifted to the King and Queen of Belgium. His last solo exhibition took place at the Design Museum in Ghent in 2009.
